Great effects using lighting

Lighting is the most important element of interior decoration. It is the instrument that generates different atmospheres to the room, from intimacy to enthusiasm. But to be sure the effect of the light is the one we are looking for, it is important that we know four types of illumination.

1. Ambient lighting or general lighting.

Actually, this is wanted and will create very interesting effects. Also keep in mind that lighting can alter the dimensions of a room, making it look smaller or bigger.

You have your online business running sales are good, your marketing campaign is bringing in new customers your business is growing. You are receiving emails about your service or product now what?

A person who emails you has an interest in your business. To delay a response or ignore this person would be the start of your business decline. Try and answer email within 24 hours minimum. The maximum time frame you would want is 48 hours. To accomplish this you will want to set aside time each day just to respond to emails. Some say three times a day, morning, mid afternoon, and evening is best as it ensures everyone gets a timely response.

Make sure you are courteous and professional. There are some times you just don’t feel like answering a question that has an answer plainly on your website or sales letter, or some question you feel is irrelevant or foolish. The urge to send a fiery response is there. If you do not feel you can politely and professionally answer, take a break. Come back after you took some time to cool down. To the customer who asked this is an important part of their decision on whether they will do business with you or not. Do not push away a customer or potential customer with a hasty emotional response.

If you really dislike answering email or it becomes too much for you to keep up with. Hire someone to do this task for you. You will want to choose this person carefully. Get someone who is friendly and knows your business. Find someone who has the time and English skill necessary to get a prompt and understandable reply back to the customer.

Some questions you will get over and over. For these have a standard response that set aside that you can cut and paste into your response and then tailor the rest of your response to that particular customers email.

Learn to use your email filters. This will automatically sort your email along with any junk mail you receive. The advantage now is if you set up folders for sales, customer inquiries, feedback and others. You can then prioritize your responses. Answer your email them in an order that you feel is important. You may want to respond to inquiries and feed back faster than sales. By using email filters you save time from having to separate into groups yourself.

We all understand that things do come up unexpectedly. This can cause a delay in responses. Make use of an auto responder, post it on your website, or send out a newsletter quick if something comes up. People are aware that things can happen and will understand just make sure you keep them informed on when they can expect a response.

If you pay attention to your customers and potential customers comments, questions, or concerns you will make them a happy and loyal group who will help your sales. If you ignore them, they will then go somewhere else. This will also have an effect on your sales only it will be a negative effect.

1. Do certain things fewer times

4. Do a list of little activities that don’t take you more than a couple of minutes.

A list of simple activities will help you finalize something and push up your productivity. Search engines What are they really?

Search engines have the main purpose to index thousands of millions of web pages. Once you look for a word or a phrase, the search engine scans automatically the entire database where it has the stored pages indexed and it returns to you as a result a list containing the most relevant results for that search.

The only criteria the number of pages found and their relevance depend on are the capabilities of the used search engine.

Search engines appeared somewhere in the early 90s when Alan Emtage, a student at the McGill University in Montreal created the first search engine like too. It was called Archie. Its purpose was to search through the information available on the FTP servers. The files on these servers were available for anyone, but one couldnt use them unless knowing the exact address of the server and of the file. Archie looked through this database and gathered lists of files for each server. It was used by people to match phrases and characters in order to take them to the server address the file they were looking for was on.

Archie is now an old method, but its creation was the first step in the search engine rally that is going on now. As the public grew more and more aware of the existence of the internet, the need for a search tool became visible.

So, first there were some software robots, using the concept of spidering to index the web, following links from one site to the other and saving the text from all visited websites in a database.

Between 1994 and 1995 three important search engines appeared: Lycos, WebCrawler and AltaVista. At about the same time Yahoo! appeared but Yahoo! is not a search engine. Yes, it has a search engine function, but yahoo is firstly a director or data and articles, providing different services as email and hosting. Recently yahoo has signed contracts with other search engines as Google for both of them to provide more search results.

Today search engines are in a continuous competition. There are thousands of search engines, but just a few big ones. This small group of top search engines is responsible for more than 90% of online searches.

But the question arises: if search engines are free and they cam be used by everyone what keeps them financially alive? The answer to the question is very simple: advertising and traffic. The more visits they have, the bigger the traffic then the more money they can make providing promotion space.

Search engines are competing to develop the best formulas and algorithms to evaluate the web pages accordingly to the keywords provided.
If someone is looking for a top position in search engines, then he has to be sure that his site is projected in such a way that search engines would find it easily, being relevant for the keywords and phrases the owner wants it to be found by.

No Dig Gardening
The idea of do-dig gardening was developed by an Australian named Esther Deans. It was originally both developed both as a labor saving idea, and a method to rejuvenate badly depleted soil in a vegetable garden.
The process involves starting with layers of newspaper, and by adding lucerne hay, straw and compost in succeeding layers, you can create a growing medium without resorting to heavy digging, and one that is rich in nutrients and which will simplify weeding and encourage your much desired plants to grow. The layers compost together, and greatly encourage earthworms. The gardens are maintained by adding manure, compost, etc., and should not be dug up, as this will undo the good work. I have used this approach to creating vegetable gardens, and it certainly does work.
The principle of not digging has sound foundations. Excessive cultivation of the soil, especially when very wet or very dry, will damage the structure of the soil, and lead to compaction. Such excessive cultivation can also discourage the earthworms, and they are the best free labor a gardener has.
Some followers of permaculture and organic gardening have translated no-dig into never-dig, which I believe is sadly mistaken. If you start with a base soil that is badly compacted, then your no-dig garden will initially work well, but you may find your garden does not continue to perform well. The fertile layer you have built up will encourage the earthworms, but we do know that the worms need to shelter from excessively hot, dry, cold or wet conditions. They have been found to seek shelter from extreme conditions by burrowing more deeply into the soil, sometime many feet down. If they cannot shelter in this way, it is my contention that they will die out or move out.
My belief is that an initial cultivation of the soil before you apply the no-dig system will guarantee a better environment for the worms, and thus a better garden for growing your plants, over the longer term.
By all means give the no-dig approach a try you will be pleased with the result.

Battling with Tossing and Turning

We’ve all had those nights that we just couldn’t find the comfortable part of the bed and spent hours tossing and turning till the break of dawn. Why does this happen?

Well, your desire to toss and turn, really isn’t the result of you not being comfortable, it’s the result of you not feeling relaxed. On a deeper feeling our mind wants us to relax, but most of the times we interpret the message as find a comfortable spot on the bed. True relaxation comes from within you, and has to be triggered by your inner thought process.

For example: You could be in a hammock on a hot summer day in Hawaii, but if you’re thinking about whether the stock market will rise or fall, and you’ve got a 100 million dollars on the line and it’s REALLY bothering you, it won’t matter what position you’re in that hammock, you won’t relax!

If you’re lying in bed and you get the urge to toss or turn, wait it out, you’ll be surprised how quickly it fades! When you get the urge to toss and turn, ask yourself How can I focus on something else right now to feel more relaxed? As you lie there for about 15 seconds, you’ll be surprised at how the urge to toss and turn simply fades, and you realize that all you really want to do is relax.

Understand that if you do start tossing and turning, it will not end with just ONE toss or turn, because of the momentum effect, you will just keep tossing and turning till the break of dawn!

Sometimes the urge to move is really intense, or maybe you really are in a very painful position on your bed. If you absolutely MUST move, do it in this way:

1) Move, but move very slowly. Remember what it feels like when you wake up in the morning and you’re very sleepy, do you move very quickly then?

2) As you move very slowly, put a big bright smile on your face, and take a deep breath.

Another reason why tossing and turning keeps us awake is because we do it very quickly, and the more we do it, the more it agitates us! So do it very slowly, and make sure to smile and breath deeply, you will feel the difference 🙂
Avoiding Tossing and Turning

Tossing and turning is an often experienced phenomenon for most of us. There are nights when we are just not comfortable on the bed and keep tossing and turning all over, all through the night. What bothers us?

Tossing and turning is not a feeling of discomfort, it is actually an offshoot of our mental equilibrium that is not relaxed. Irrespective of our mind wanting us to relax, our bodies want to find a more comfortable spot on the bed, a result of misinterpretation. Relaxation has to come from within you and should be a result of your thought process.

Lying in a hammock on a hot summer day, on a Hawaiian beach would sound very relaxing. If you keep thinking about millions invested on the stock market that could take a beating, if and when it crashes, the hammock will not work wonders in relaxing you.

When you feel the urge to toss and turn on the bed, give it time, wait. It will go away faster than it came. Lie there and think about focusing your mind elsewhere more relaxing than where it was and the urge to toss and turn will be out of your system in about 15 seconds. The best part of this exercise is that you will realize that you need to relax and not try finding a comfortable place on bed.

If you start tossing and turning it becomes a never ending process for the night and will not stop till the morning.

How to stay close to family and have your career too

Well, often when running after two rabbits well end up loosing both of them. But no, that saying is not always true and it does not apply here. Usually people find it confusing when they realize that in order to have a family they have to give up their career dreams, or in some cases even their jobs. Actually its all about priorities and self control.

If ever confronted with this problem, and no other advice works, try following these stages and maybe you will find the answers you need.

1. Decide if you are ready to have a family.
This is very important. You must take in consideration all aspects, family life means: children, spending time together, support.
If you dont feel ready and still take this step, your family will end up neglected for sure and you shouldnt try to follow the next steps unless you are ready.

2. Assuming you have a job, make a work plan and try to share work problems at home.
You might find it unbelievable, but your family can help with your work. They love you and even though they are not specialists in your work area, they will do their best to give the best possible advice.

3. To have a career you have to work harder. Try getting some work home.
When waiting that promotion, you will have lots of unplanned work to do. If you stay and finish it all at the office, your family will barely see you. Try and take home with you what can be taken and at least they will be happy knowing you are next to them, even if you are busy.

4. Keeping a warm atmosphere at home will ease your job.
Do not fight with your family when you come home stressed from work and also do not keep work problems secret from your family. If when you get up in the morning you will be encouraged and leave home contentedly, your job will be a lot easier.

5. When getting a promotion, discuss it at home.
Even if it means more work, your family will understand if they are asked first. They dont want to get in the way of your career and desires, they just want to see you and talk to you every day if possible. But they will let you go work as much as you need and where you need to if you make taking the better job their decision.
